World Meeting of Families pilgrims hold reunion

The World Meeting of Families pilgrimage, sponsored by The Compass in partnership with the Office of Family and Married Life, attracted more than 100 people to Philadelphia in September 2015. The highlight of the week-long pilgrimage was a Mass celebrated by Pope Francis.

The group held a reunion just before Christmas, where they enjoyed a slideshow of photos from their time in Philadelphia. (See video below.)

The Green Bay pilgrimage was organized by The Compass advertising and marketing manager Amy Kawula. It was the 13th pilgrimage Kawula has planned for The Compass since 2005 and the fourth she has overseen without assistance from a tour company.

The pilgrimage included visits to several shrine sites and, in addition to the papal events, was highlighted by a meeting with Gianna Emanuela Molla, daughter of St. Gianna Beretta Molla. Gianna Emanuela joined the Green Bay group for dinner on Sept. 23 and spoke about her mother. She was invited by Bishop Ricken to address the group.
