Second Walk with Jesus Downtown set
Families invited to join in event for Vocations
Families interested in vocations or in showing their support
for vocations to the priesthood and religious life are being
invited to take part in the second annual Walk With Jesus
Downtown.
The walk, sponsored by the Vocations Directors of the
Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, will be held Saturday, Sept.
30.
It will begin at 1 p.m. at St. Mary of the Angels Church,
645 Irwin St., Green Bay. The 17-block walk will include a
stop at St. Willebrord Church, 209 S. Adams St. where
priests, brothers and sisters will serve refreshments and
make presentations on their vocation.
The walk will end at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 140
Monroe St., with a 4 p.m. Mass.
Shuttle buses will be available to transport participants
back to St. Mary Church after Mass.
Last year, about 60 priests, religious and lay people took
part in the first Walk With Jesus Downtown.
Among the participants last year was a group from the
Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity in Manitowoc, who
carried a large banner for their community.
Other sponsors included the Green Bay Diocese, the
Franciscan Friars of Pulaski, the Norbertines and the Bay
Settlement Franciscans.
Registration for the walk is not required.
