The Compass earns press awards
Advertising campaign, Sisters' jubilees gain nods

The Compass, the weekly newspaper of the Green Bay Diocese, received recognition for its advertising and special supplements at the 2001 Catholic Press Association convention held in Dallas, Texas, May 23-25.
More than 3,000 newspapers, magazines and books were represented in the convention's awards competition. In that, The Compass competed against other diocesan newspapers as well as national papers, such as The National Catholic Reporter and Our Sunday Visitor, and took home two awards:
Best Local Retail Campaign, second place, for a series of ads for Allouez Catholic Cemetery. The campaign was developed by advertising manager Jack O'Neil and designed by O'Neil and Amy Kawula.
Honorable mention for Special Supplement with Advertising Emphasis for the 2000 Sisters Jubilee designed and edited by Patricia Kasten. Advertising was done by Jack O'Neil.
