You can go to class without going to college
Marian College offers several walk-in courses
FOND DU LAC -- Marian College in Fond du Lac is offering a way to
get your feet wet in the pool known as "college."
Walk-in courses are a good option for stay-at-home moms, senior
citizens, people interested in returning to college on a
part-time basis, and high school students interested in taking a
college course during their senior year.
"Registering for a class or two provides a great opportunity
either to begin or continue your education," said Stacey Akey,
assistant vice president and dean of enrollment management. "I
encourage you to learn first hand the benefits of the Marian
experience."
Courses that are available for walk-ins include Introduction to
Photography, which focuses on the understanding and use of the
camera in photography and filmmaking, and also a brief unit on
the history of photography. Music appreciation emphasizes the
development of listening skills, as well as the opportunity to
enhance appreciation of music, such as jazz and western art
music.
Other courses include: Art Fundamentals, Fiber Arts, Introduction
to Art Therapy, English Composition, Elementary French and
German, World Civilization I and II, Computer Application in
Business, Principles of Management, Introduction to College
Algebra, Music Fundamentals, Philosophy and Values, general
Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, Foundations of Christian
Experience, and Introduction to Women's Studies. Some of these
courses meet during the evening.
