Bishop responds
On the advice of legal counsel and because it is ongoing litigation, Bp. Robert Banks said he feels it is best not to talk about the specifics of his deposition June 4 in Boston in the case of former Boston priest and child abuser John Geoghan.
Instead, he released the following statement: "Most of my testimony focused on documents related to my work when I served from 1984 to 1990 as Vicar for Administration for the Archdiocese of Boston. I answered each and every question as best I could. I understand that the plaintiffs' attorney will be requesting further testimony from me. It's my intention to cooperate to the fullest extent possible."
