"From the short time we had with Bp. Zubik, it seemed clear he is a very pastoral person. His emphasis on the importance of celebrating the Eucharist was heartening; and on 'listening' before making major changes was very good especially as an employee who will undoubtedly be affected by the changes. I also was struck by his enthusiasm, energy and great sense of humor. I think the Diocese of Green Bay will continue to be well served by our new bishop as we have been by our former bishop." --Cindi Brawner, diocesan director of Development
"My first impression of our new bishop, David Zubik, is that he is a very warm and engaging person, who is full of enthusiasm for both his church and Jesus Christ. He certainly comes to the Diocese of Green Bay with outstanding credentials but more than that he seems genuinely excited about coming to his new ministry in Green Bay and leading the Catholic faithful in northeastern Wisconsin. I was struck that, despite his many years of administrative leadership, he views himself first and foremost a pastoral leader with firm roots in parish life." --Kevin Brunner, director Properties, Central Services and the St. Joseph Corp.
He's so young! Tall! Outgoing! Quite the talker! It will be good for him if his parents move here too! I will cry when Bishop Banks leaves - I will miss him very much. However, change is good. I realize that this could mean big changes at some point in the diocese, but Bp. Zubik reminds me of a "mover and a shaker" and putting things into the pot for stirring is sometimes a very good thing. It's kind of exciting in a way. --Jan Compton, secretary, Catholic Foundation
"He comes to us with a lot of enthusiasm and a deep faith. I think he's going to be able to rekindle a spirit and a direction for our diocese. He tells us that he's going to be listening to us and from there I think he can use his insights and his experience to help us to continue to build a church." --Fr. Paul Demuth, pastor of Resurrection Parish, Green Bay, and chair of the diocese's Priests Personnel Board
At the risk of being labeled "shy", I figured I'd give you my take but am just wondering if a half hour introduction gives us a sense of a Bishop. All in all, I appreciated his candor, his quick wit, his mention of importance of family and service to others as key for him. I look forward to his continued leadership and commitment to what God calls us all to do in service to His people. I think Bishop Zubik will bring new and positive energy to this Diocese. --Karen Johnston, director of Catholic Charities
"As I met with Bp. Zubik I was impressed with three things and question one. My impressions were that he is a man who knows God's love, is committed to sharing this love with people and has a great respect for religious. The big question is 'can he be a Packer fan at a Steelers' game? --Sr. Mary Jo Kirt, Representative for Religious
"My joy is that he has chosen the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe as his day for installation. I only hope that he chooses a site where many people can participate." --Rudy Pineda, consultant for Hispanic Pastoral Ministry
"I enjoyed meeting Bp. Zubik. He is a very warm and sincere person." --Bonnie Waslowski, bookkeeping assistant, Finance and Accounting
