During Bp. David Zubik's visit to Green Bay the day his appointment as bishop was announced, he said he is looking forward to getting out and meeting the people of the diocese.
He will start doing that soon after his installation at a series of five regional visits.
The visits will include Mass, followed by a reception.
Other activities also will be scheduled while he is in the various cities.
Here is the schedule:
Monday, Dec. 15, 6:30 p.m. Mass at Holy Innocents Church, Manitowoc;
Tuesday, Dec. 16, 6:30 p.m. Mass at St. John Church, Antigo;
Wednesday, Dec. 17, 6:30 p.m. Mass at Holy Family Church, Marinette;
Thursday, Dec. 18, 6:30 p.m. Mass at St. Bernard Church, Green Bay;
Sunday, Dec. 21, 1:30 p.m. Mass at St. Bernard Church, Appleton.
When Bp. Zubik visited Green Bay on Oct. 10, he said he plans in his first 6-12 months in the diocese to be "all over the place, visiting lots of people, getting to know lots of people. One of the gifts I have is being a really good listener and I really want to be able to listen to what people have to say, what they have to tell me, so I can be a good shepherd to the people here."
Bp. Zubik will be installed at 2 p.m. Dec. 12 in St. Agnes Church, Green Bay.
The Mass will be carried live on WLUK-TV (Fox 11) and on WJOK radio (1050 AM).
