Two seminarians advance
Following their ordinations to the diaconate, they will be ordained as priests in June
Two seminarians from the Green Bay Diocese - Pat Beno and Matt Settle - were ordained as deacons Nov. 15 at St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein Seminary in Illinois.
Chicago Card. Francis George ordained them and 19 other seminarians at the Mass in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.
Both the Rev. Mr. Beno and the Rev. Mr. Settle are to be ordained to the priesthood June
5, 2004, in St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay.
The Rev. Mr. Beno is a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish, Green Bay. He attended Premontre and Preble high schools in Green Bay and Seton High School, Manassas, Va. He earned a bachelor's degree in history after attending Christendom College, Front Royal, Va., and Franciscan University, Stubenville, Ohio.
He was born Dec. 24, 1960, to Patrick and Joanne Beno. He attends Mundelein Seminary.
The Rev. Mr. Settle is a member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish, Waupaca. He graduated from Salem Senior High School, Salem, Ohio, and then earned a bachelor's in math education from
Miami University.
He was born Nov. 1, 1967, to Ken and Joan Settle. He also attends Mundelein Seminary.
In the spring quarter, both will be involved in weekend ministry: the Rev. Mr. Beno at Ss. Peter and Paul, Green Bay, and the Rev. Mr. Settle at St. Margaret Mary, Waupaca.
