Education: St. John's Seminary, Boston; licentiate in sacred theology, North American College and Gregorian University, Rome; doctorate in canon law, Lateran University, Rome.

Ordained: Dec. 20, 1952 in Rome

Appointments: Assoc. pastor, St, Mary Parish, Dedham, Mass.; Immaculate Conception Parish, Winchester, Mass.; St. Mark Parish, Dorchester, Mass.

Canon Law professor at St. John Seminary.

Academic dean and rector of St. John Seminary.

Pastor, Sacred Heart, Roslindale, Mass.

Chancellor, Boston Archdiocese

Vicar for Administration and Vicar General, Boston

Tribunal Advocate and judge, Boston

Ordained auxiliary bishop of Boston on Sept. 19, 1985
