Giving to Bishop's Appeal makes some major gains
Giving to Bishop's Appeal 2004 is exceeding last year in several important ways, said Josh Diedrich, Appeal director.
Compared to this time last year, there are 1,125 more donors - 37,678, compared to 36,553 - and the average gift is up by $7.35 - $109.01, compared to $101.66.
That has led to an overall increase in giving of $4,107,414, a jump of $391,095 from this time last year, Diedrich said. Target for the Appeal is $4.8 million.
In addition, membership in the Crozier Society - those who give $500 or more - has climbed from 1,313 to 1,529.
The Appeal is the diocese's main source of funding for the programs and services it offers to parishes, families and individuals.
