Compass website growing
Information and services are available
By Tony Staley
Compass Editor
Over the last several years The Compass website has grown from a modest effort to a resource on a variety of topics.
That includes information on Mass times, job postings, parish fish fries and links to Catholic movie reviews, information from the Vatican and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Here are some examples of what is on the website and how to get there directly:
Advertising information, www.thecompassnews.org/compass/compinfo.shtml;
Subscription information, www.thecompassnews.org/compass/compsub.shtml;
The most recent help wanted ads, www.thecompassnews.org/compass/helpwanted.shtml;
Most recent calendar of events, including events we can't squeeze into the print issue, www.thecompassnews.org/compass/calendar.shtml;
The Compass in the Classroom, www.thecompassnews.org/compass/comclass.shtml;
Parish bulletin inserts, www.thecompassnews.org/bulletininserts.shtml;
Contact information and staff list, www.thecompassnews.org/compass/contactinfo.shtml;
Most recent Fall/Winter or Summer Mass schedules (but not Holy Week or Christmas schedules, which are included with that week's web issue), www.thecompassnews.org/compass/masses.shtml.
Links page, www.thecompassnews.org/links.shtml. This new page has links to several official Catholic sites including: movie reviews and ratings from the U.S. Catholic Bishops Office of Film and Broadcasting; the Vatican; the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops; Catholic News Service; and Jesus Decoded, which sets the record straight about The Da Vinci Code and what the church teaches and believes.
We anticipate The Compass website will continue to grow and augment our print issue. As always, we welcome your comments.
