This is the time of year for celebrations.

For example, a few weeks back The Compass ran our annual supplement honoring the women religious celebrating their anniversaries of profession. A similar section for diocesan priests celebrating their anniversaries of ordination is planned next month.

This week's Compass features stories and photos on the ordination of our diocese's three newest priests, Frs. Dave Duffeck, Quinn Mann and Walter Stumpf, and a story on two Norbertines, Frs. Nicholas Nirschl and Fr. Joseph Coopmans, who are celebrating jubilees of ordination [print edition only].

Last month, Bp. David Zubik ordained seven deacons and commissioned 11 lay people who had completed the Commissioned Ministry Leadership Formation Program.

Whether they are just starting their service to the People of God or have served the Body of Christ for many years, these priests, sisters, deacons and commissioned ministers all deserve our grateful thanks and our continued prayers.

Whatever our particular role may be, we are all called to serve the community that is the church and to prayerfully support each other in all that we do.
