Daniel Schuster will be ordained a deacon by Bp. David Zubik at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, in St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay.
Schuster is a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Oshkosh. He will begin his fourth year of theology this fall at St. Mary of the Lake Seminary, Mundelein, Ill.
Schuster served his parish internship at St. John the Baptist Parish, Howard, in 2006, and this summer was a chaplain at Camp Tekawitha. He will be ordained a priest next spring.
He is the son of Charles and Angie Schuster and Sandra and Tom Swartwood, all of Oshkosh.
In comments appearing on the diocesan Website (www.gbdioc.org), Schuster described himself "as someone who is walking the path of discipleship.... I like to study, work hard, spend time in prayer, serve the Lord in unique ways, and have fun. As a seminarian, I especially enjoy the work of evangelization. At times I can be a jokester, but living out the mission is always my primary focus."
Schuster attended Catholic schools and was active in Boy Scouts, volunteer activities, including Fr. Carr's Place 2B in Oshkosh, music, serving at Mass and Life Teen.
