Farewell Mass for Bishop set for Sept. 16

There will be a farewell Mass for Bp. David Zubik at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, in St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay. A reception will follow in the Wycislo Center.

Bp. Zubik, the 11th Bishop of Green Bay, will be installed as the 12th Bishop of Pittsburgh at 2 p.m. Sept. 28 in St. Paul Cathedral.

In addition to the farewell Mass, Bp. Zubik's schedule includes the following:

• Aug. 18 - Ordination of Daniel Schuster as a transitional deacon at 10 a.m., St. Francis Xavier Cathedral;
  
  
• Aug. 19 - 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Green Bay;
  
  
• Aug. 23 - 4-6 p.m. greeting people before the Bishop's Charities Game at the Green Bay Diocese's booth near the Oneida Nation Gate outside Lambeau Field;
  
  
• Aug. 25 - Inaugural Charity Challenge Family Fun 5K Run, 8 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed Bp. Zubik to Pittsburgh on July 18. He was appointed to Green Bay on Oct. 10, 2003. He was installed as the bishop on Dec. 12, 2003, in St. Agnes Church, Green Bay.
