OSHKOSH -- Deacon Jason Blahnik has a request for the faithful of the Diocese of Green Bay.
"Pray for good weather for Jan. 2, 3 and 4," he said. "I have family and friends traveling from many different areas, so I'm hoping for good weather. The prayers of the people are powerful."
Deacon Blahnik will be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop David Ricken at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay. The ordination marks the first by Bishop Ricken in the Diocese of Green Bay. All are welcome. The newly ordained priest will preside at a Mass of Thanksgiving the following day at the Sister Bay site of Stella Maris Parish, Door County.
