Members of the Green Bay Diocese join their brothers and sisters in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in wishing Archbishop Timothy Dolan a fond farewell. Archbishop Dolan served as apostolic administrator of the Green Bay Diocese from September 2007 to August 2008. The last time Archbishop Dolan visited Green Bay was Aug. 28, during the installation of Bishop David Ricken.
Archbishop Dolan will be dearly missed by Catholics and non-Catholics alike. His ebullient, warm personality endeared him to people of all faiths. And his humor is priceless.
When introduced to the media in Milwaukee after his appointment there in June 2002, Archbishop Dolan was asked what separated him from his predecessor, Archbishop Rembert Weakland, and in typical Dolan fashion he replied, “Well, for starters, about 50 pounds.”
Ad multos Anos, Archbishop Dolan. Wisconsin will miss you.
