Does your parish offer a pet blessing for the feast of St. Francis of Assisi? If so, St. Anthony Messenger’s online publication, AmericanCatholic.org, wants to know about it.
Each year, for the past 14 years, AmericanCatholic has presented a listing of animal blessing services around the country — and beyond. Last year’s listing, according to Sharon Cross, project manager, included more than 600 locations representing 48 states, the District of Columbia and Canada.
Cross contacted The Compass earlier this week and asked us to put the word out. If your parish or school is planning to hold a pet blessing on or around the Oct. 4 feast of St. Francis, contact St. Anthony Messenger. The e-mail address is: [email protected] The toll-free phone number is 800-488-0488, ext. 118.
You’ll need to include your organization’s name, street address, city and state; date and time of the blessing service; phone number including area code; name of a contact person and other information that may be helpful for viewers to know.
