Prayer network active

One of our priests was injured Sunday evening, Feb. 14, and the prayer networl is a wonder to behold. Fr. Michael O’Rourke, long-time pastor of St. Mary Parish in Appleton, slipped on his driveway, hit his head and was knocked out. He was not found until Monday morning. He had a severe head injury and suffered from hypothermia. He had emergency surgery , is currently (Feb. 16) stable, but in a coma.  Within hours, requests for prayers had gone out in emails from local schools and ministry groups; his parish held a prayer service on the evening of the 15th; and Masses were offered around the diocese on Feb. 16.  St. Mary Parish is posting regular updates on his condition at its Web site at www.stmaryparish.org.  While it is very sad that one of our priests is jurt, it is a blessing to see how our faith community pulls together in love and concern. Christ is truly at work in his church.  May God continue to bless Fr. O’Rourke.
