“Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning, while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb.”
This image from John’s Gospel, which proclaims Jesus’ rising from the dead, reflects a spirit of hope for all of us. Not only in the great Easter miracle which we celebrate this weekend, but in our personal struggles.
How many times in our lives have we placed stones in our path that prevent us from giving and receiving the love and forgiveness offered by God? Jesus died for us. If we believe this to be true, we’re called to cast aside the barriers hindering our salvation. Make it a point of sharing the Easter joy with friends and strangers alike. Christ died so that we might have life. Let’s act like we believe it.
