24th annual ‘Just for Kids’ contest

By | November 2, 2011

This year, we ask: “If you could bring your favorite Christmas treat to Bethlehem, what would it be? Why?”

Every Christmas, people prepare or buy special goodies — candy, cookies, breads, meat, gravies and, yes, even vegetable dishes. What treat from your family tradition would you share with the Holy Family?

Children should keep essays under 40 words. If essays can be sent by email, it would be appreciated. Email may be sent to [email protected] by Nov. 30. All entries must include the child’s name, address, school or parish, age or grade in school. (Class submissions must also include teacher’s name and class, since we often receive several entries from one school.) Children may include artwork.

Send entries to “Just for Kids,” attn. Patricia Kasten, c/o The Compass, P.O. Box 23825, Green Bay, WI 54305-3825. Entries must be received by Nov. 30 to be considered for publication in the Dec. 23 issue.

(More essays will be posted on The Compass website.) Entrants will receive a prize after the New Year holiday.
