The first Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association polls were released for the high schools. Lourdes of Oshkosh cracked both the girls and boys rankings.

The Lourdes girls, ranked third in Division 4, opened the season with a 57-42 victory over Mishicot. Seniors Teenie Lichtfuss and Lexy Petermann are among the top players in the state. Both garnered WBCA All-State honors last season. Sophomore Maddy Reed and junior Laura McDermott were the team’s third and fourth leading scorers a year ago, respectively, behind Petermann and Lichtfuss.

The boys poll features Lourdes as the eighth ranked team in Division 4. The Knights opened the season with a loss to Division 1 Oshkosh North. The team bounced back the next game of the Oshkosh Classic to defeat Oshkosh West, also a Division 1 team. Senior guards Rob Kleman, Brett Baehman and Mike Hartenbach are among the top returners for the Knights.
