Local parishes celebrate feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

ALLOUEZ — Parishes around the Diocese of Green Bay will mark the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe with Masses and other special activities.

St. Therese Parish, Appleton

Dec. 11: 11 a.m. Mass in Spanish followed by festival, dance, music and food in activity center; 11 p.m. Aztec dances, rosary and serenade.

Dec. 12: 6 p.m. rosary, Aztec dance and Mass at 7 p.m.

SS. Peter and Paul Parish, Green Bay

Dec. 9: Feast of San Juan Diego Mass with special blessing of children following Mass.

Dec. 12: 5 a.m. Las Mañanitas and concert followed by 6 a.m. bilingual Mass with Bishop David Ricken as presider and Fr. Anthony Cirignani, pastor, as concelebrant.

St. Philip Parish, Green Bay

Dec. 11: Vigil and rosary recitation with Jornadas youth, 7 to 10 p.m.

Dec. 12: Las Mañanitas, 4 to 6 a.m.; Mass in English, 7:30 a.m.; music and procession with traditional band from Oaxaca, 5:30 p.m. Mass in Spanish celebrated by Bishop David Ricken, 6 p.m., with dinner and Mariachi music to follow.

St. Willebrord Parish, Green Bay

Dec. 11: Mass in Spanish at 7 p.m.

Dec. 12: Midnight bilingual Mass; 4 a.m. Las Mañanitas; 6 a.m. Spanish Mass; 7:15 a.m. Mass in English; 12:05 p.m. Mass in English; 6 p.m. Spanish Mass.

St. Thomas the Apostle  Parish, Newton

Dec. 11: Procession from Newton Village to St. Thomas Apostle Church, 10 a.m. Play, “Apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe,” noon; Spanish Mass, 1 p.m., followed by Mariachi songs and fiesta. A veneration of the Virgin Mary begins at 10 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 10:30 p.m. and Las Mananitas from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

St. Mary Parish, Omro

Dec. 11: Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration and Mass in Spanish, 1 p.m.

Corpus Christi Parish, Sturgeon Bay

Dec. 11: 11:45 a.m. rosary, followed by procession and presentation of flowers. Mass at 1 p.m., followed by celebration with food, music and fellowship. Tonantzin Dance Company will perform.

St. Joseph Parish, Wautoma

Dec. 11: Mass in Spanish at 11:30 a.m. followed by fiesta and luncheon in the parish hall; mariachi music, traditional songs, Mexican food and pinatas.
