Dear brothers and sisters in the newborn Prince of Peace,
As human beings, we all share a common, deep longing in our hearts for love, peace, human dignity and respect and the means to contribute to the well-being of others. We are this way because God made us in his own image and likeness. It is in this likeness that we long to lead lives of significance, and lives that make a positive difference in the lives of others.
This past year, there have been many acts of violence, hatred, and even murder imposed on many unsuspecting victims, with gruesome detachment and destruction. This Christmas season, let us reflect on the people in our lives and deeply appreciate our families, our neighbors, our fellow parishioners, our community and our country. May the Prince of Peace dominate our hearts and the hearts of all of those around us, that we may know and claim that we are made in the image and likeness of God, the Prince of Peace.
