Compass wins four national press awards
The Compass won four national awards last month at the annual convention of the Catholic Press
Association of the United States and Canada. The awards were:
-- Second place for a local editorial by Tony Staley on the controversial Norbert Kox art exhibit shown
last summer and fall at the Neville Museum in Green Bay;
-- Third place for editorial section;
-- Honorable Mention for regular special supplement, "Respect Life Month," edited by Patricia Kasten;
-- Honorable Mention for seasonal issue, "Easter," edited by Patricia Kasten.
In other competition, two Compass columnists received book awards. Eileen Marx received a third
place award for her family life book, Weaving Faith & Family (Ave Maria Press). Fr. Ron Rolhesier
received a first for his spirituality book, The Holy Longing (Doubleday).
