CHD grants awarded
The Diocese of Green Bay distributed $27,000 in grants from the
Catholic Campaign for Human Development. The grants were awarded
to the following community-based groups, which work to resolve
the causes of poverty:
-- Coming Home Project, Green Bay;
-- Marley Street Entrepreneurial Community Garden Project,
Howard;
-- The Literacy Project, Winnebago County;
-- Neighbors Opening Door Project, Green Bay;
-- The Family Literacy Project, Green Bay; and Money-To-Work
Project, Sturgeon Bay.
Parishes throughout the Diocese gathered the money distributed
through these grants in a special collection in April. Grants are
made annually to groups who work for solutions to the causes of
poverty and injustice in such categories as economic and social
development, legal aid, housing, health, communications and
education.
Since 1970, the Diocese of Green Bay Campaign for Human Development has awarded more than $750,000. For more information, contact Tom Rinkoski, coordinator of Catholic Campaign for Human Development at (920)437-7531, ext. 8304 or e-mail:
