Lenten specials begin
Several features will help readers' journey
By Tony Staley
Lent begins next week on Feb. 28, Ash Wednesday. As is our
custom, we'll offer several features for our readers, starting
with this issue and continuing through April 13.
These features will include Fr. Ron Rolheiser's weekly column on
spirituality; a column by local lay people, priests and a woman
religious reflecting on the Sunday Scripture; a family column by
Tom Rinkoski, diocesan director of Family Life; Sunday Scripture
columns by Bp. Robert Morneau and Fr. Richard Ver Bust.
In addition, the Sunday Readings page is carrying a special
feature to help small faith-sharing groups, couples, individuals
and others continue the Renew 2000 experience of praying with the
Sunday Scriptures. This feature, "Praying with the Sunday
Scriptures," is composed by a Diocesan Faith Sharing Writing
Team. The series will run a week in advance to give users enough
time to meet - but the columns by Bp. Morneau and Fr. Ver Bust
will run right before the Sunday they are writing about. To make
room for the "Praying with the Sunday Scriptures" series, the
texts of the Sunday readings will not run until the end of Lent.
As always, we welcome your comments.
