Here is a list of videos available through the Diocesan Department of Education AV Center on various expressions of prayer. 4569: Psalm 100: A Summons To Service And Praise (2000, 60 min., Level A)

Presentation by Dr. William Urbrock at the Total Catholic Education Eucharistic Congress 2000. Psalm 100 serves as a response to the series of Psalms 90-99, which invite meditation on the fragile nature of human life and the eternal majesty of God. Includes the "Old Hundredth" as sung at Westminister Abbey.

4648: Spiritual Exercises of St.  Ignatius (2000, 364 min., Level SA)

St. Ignatius of Loyola is the patron of retreats because of his handbook for retreats, the Spiritual Exercises. These "exercises for the soul" are intended to lead the follower of Christ from self will and excessive attachment into the freedom of children of God: freedom to know, to discern, and to do the will of God. Under the guidance of Fr. Raymond Gawronski, SJ, viewers can make the Ignatian retreat in a series of 13 half-hour retreat talks covering all the major points of the Spiritual Exercises. The goal is to enter as fully as possible into the subject using imagination, memory, understanding, will.

Second in a three tape series with Fr. John Catoir. This session teaches that the secret to prayer rests in our fidelity to God's will as manifested in the "present moment." The past is gone; the future is hidden from our eyes. All we have is the present moment to rest in God - just as we are.


4618: Crossing Rome (2000, 26 min., Level JSA)

Journalist and broadcaster Paul Heiney takes us back into the first centuries of Christianity in Rome. The documentary uncovers many fascinating historical and archaeological finds. It shows how the cross at Rome went from being a symbol of criminality and shame to a sign of triumph and loving sacrifice. Outstanding for Lent and Easter. Includes reflections and music.


4800: Heart In Hands A Small Book About Giving And Receiving (2000, 70 min., Level SA)

Beautiful tribute to all caregivers that can be used to recognize those health care, Befrienders, Wellness Retreats, Hospice, Aging Conferences and so on.


4916: Will You Carry The Light: Tony Martinez Band (2000, 24 min., Level JSA)

Teens from across the country come together for a three day youth pilgrimage at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Ill. While there they take a closer look at how the Light of Christ, The Holy Spirit, is present in them, and how they can "Carry the Light" to others. Original music by the Tony Martinez Band adds a light and lively dimension to this insightful and entertaining new program for young people.


4905: Cherub Wings # 7 Moldy Goldy (2000, 25 min., Level KP)

Teaches children about how Jesus lived and what he was like - humble, obedient and loving. Includes a visualized prayer, illustrated Bible story, two high-concept kid music videos, a Jesus quote, a Scripture song, interviews, all in a fun setting. In this episode, children learn about materialism through the parable of the Rich Man and how God wants us to be content with what we have.


4518: Cedermont Kids Bible Songs (33 min., Level KPI)

Seven-video series makes up this delightful collection of classic children's Christian and school music performed by children preschool through intermediate who both sing and act out the words in a variety of engaging settings. Adults will remember the tunes too. Songs include "Jesus Loves Me," "Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho," "My God Is So Big" and "Silver And Gold Have I None."
